AbbVie: a portmanteau for Abbott Laboratories (the parent company) and vie, the latin root for life.

I was fortunate enough to spend two days at AbbVie’s new research facility in South San Francisco to create an image set for press release and homepage use. Before this, AbbVie had numerous offices throughout the Bay Area, but the new campus brought them all under the same roof for the first time. The state-of-the-art structure was created just for them by BioMed Realty as part of the larger Gateway of the Pacific development for life sciences at Oyster Point.

AbbVie was so proud of their new campus, and the entire team really welcomed me in as one of their own for the shoot. It’s wild because I first worked on this project for another client when it was just a hole in the ground, so to come full circle and photograph the final result was really special.
