Cambria Hotel Burbank

My client, Build Group, was the General Contractor for Choice Hotels’ newest Cambria Hotel location in Burbank, CA, and they gave me free range to create a set of images to showcase their work. With its location right next to Hollywood Burbank International Airport, I wanted to highlight its proximity in the establishing shots. This proved to be a tricky endeavor – the surrounding airspace is tightly controlled by the FAA. So I applied for a permit and was granted a 200-ft. ceiling, with a cut-off boundary that was very close to the west property line, but the resulting shots really delivered. San Fernando Blvd., the Verdugo Mountains and the airport also delivered on an epic sense of place at sunset.

Additional highlights of the project: the large mural facing San Fernando Blvd., intended to make the location a new visual landmark; the extensive and beautiful custom casework throughout the lobby and amenities spaces; and the Hollywood Hills wall cladding in the dining area, complete with custom film-reel light fixtures, all of which elevate this location as something special in the Choice Hotels portfolio.
