Manzanita Square, SFSU

The Manzanita Square dorm is part of San Francisco State University’s push to create more affordable housing for its student body, adding 597 much-needed beds to the student-housing stock. I partnered with my longtime client, Build Group, to showcase various phases throughout the construction process. For me, watching projects transform from demo to completion and occupation never gets old. Build Group also asked me for a few additional images focused on the exterior cladding and fine interior detail of the main amenities space. I opted to shoot these on a weekend morning after a rainstorm when the streets were still wet, which really added to the dramatic effect of the exterior hero images.
