Emerald High School is the newest high school in the Dublin Unified School District. It’s also the first comprehensive high school built in Alameda County since 1973, so it felt historic to be commissioned by the general contractor to photograph what transformed from an empty field into a nearly 24-acre campus.
My assistant and I spent a day and a half on campus, first scouting light and angles and then shooting. The client gave us full creative control of the shoot and, subsequently, the selects for a comprehensive image catalog. It felt very special to be trusted by BHM Construction and PBK Architects with an image set for this $374 million project funded by taxpayer bond measures H and J.
