SLUSD District Office

San Leandro, CA

2025

When the San Leandro Unified School District needed a new district office, HKIT Architects answered the call. The goal was to consolidate the many school district departments spread across the city into one central location. Key asks from the district were to create an open, welcoming and comfortable working location for the staff, emphasizing natural light, inviting break rooms and other amenities. I wanted to show these aspects in the way they were designed to be experienced. My client also asked me to feature the clerestory windows, designed to maximize natural light throughout the day. The result is a set of photographs that highlights the lived-in feel of the spaces.
